Garrett Conrad Scholarship

The Garrett Conrad Scholarship is awarded to a student with a documented disability, who is registered with Disability Services, enrolled for at least six credits and has completed at least one semester at Fitchburg State. It is granted to a student one time only. The scholarship honors Garrett Conrad, a Fitchburg State student who had quadriplegia after a car accident. In 1992, Garrett said, “Everyone has their moments of depression. But I think it’s part of my nature to be positive. I don’t even think about my injury that much”.

Supplemental Questions
  1. Are you a student with a disability, who is currently registered with the Disability Services Office at FSU? If not, you are not eligible to apply for this scholarship.
  2. Explain what impact your disability has had on you and how it may influence you in the future. Describe a challenge that you have encountered because of your disability, and how you resolved it. Please do not use your name or other identifying information anywhere in the essay portion of the application. The process should be anonymous, so that reviewers will not be biased when making their selection.
